Memory Lane...

I had a little walk down memory lane today...at the grocery store.
My kids were begging for a treat, and I was in a giving mood, so we walked down the candy aisle.  We were at a store that I hardly ever go to, so I was quite surprised at the selection.  It was like my Grandma Hemingway was there!  She used to buy these white mints (I swear they were only for me, because they were my favorite).   And there they were!!

...Along with the rest of the candy that she used to have in her stash.  Those pepto-bismol pink candies, and the party mints, and the butter mints--and LEMON DROPS.  Do you know how long it's been since I've seen lemon drops.  Just like the ones that she used to buy.  As I was giddy about these candies, I could almost imagine her standing in the candy aisle, feeling the same way, picking out candy for her grandkids, knowing how happy and special it made them feel.  She was such a great lady.  I miss her sometimes.  It was so fun to feel like a kid again standing in the candy aisle at the grocery store, re-living my memories with my Grandma.

By the way, my kids had to drag me out of the candy aisle.  They were ready to go home before I was.
