"we are secure"

Jon and I had to run to the grocery store the other night. Since we weren't going to be gone long, we took Leah and left the others at home. When we pulled back into the driveway, I thought the house looked a little dark...and then I saw it...dun,dun,dun...dark shadows running in front of the window (imagine the really intense, suspensful music beginning here)...

We were met at the door with our very own security guards. They had secured the perimeter, and it was safe to proceed to the unloading station (which was the kitchen).
J9, A7, and E6 (code name for: Josh, Annie & Jake), had managed to divert all possible intruders and had created a safe zone. We were able to enter under their watchful eye...and they even helped unload a few groceries.

Now, just take a quick minute to notice the blue thing inside Jake's ear. My own security guards were in need of a way to communicate with each other as they roamed the house inspecting for intruders. And just in case an intruder was located...

...they would need some immediate back up. And what better way than to use their own wireless ear pieces?

The mastermind of the whole game, none other than A7 herself, figured out that pencil erasers--the kind that you add to the top of your pencils, that come in all sizes, and colors, would fit perfectly in your ear. (and if they didn't quite fit, they were bendy enough to squish into your ear). My kids, I mean my security detail, never cease to amaze me with their imaginations and the things they come up with. Look what having no TV does to a kid!! They end up with pencil erasers in their ears!! But at least we're all SAFE!!
(They played this game all night--and I laughed every single time one of them ran through the room with their eraser...I mean, ear piece, in their ear!)

We might need them to come and secure our "area" too. :) How awesome. I love to see the greatness of imagination. Love you all.
